Regulation is a hot topic in the SA world, as the sheer variety of operators and properties on offer has made it a challenge to regulate. We do anticipate more regulation will be coming in, but our view is that this is a great thing. At present, planning has implications for SA in certain areas, most notably in London with the 90-day rule, whereby planning will be required if you wish to let your property out on a short-term basis for more than 90 days per calendar year.
